The VALUE COLLECTION WS-MH-WIRE-022 is a 1/4-inch diameter galvanized aircraft cable rated to a 6,100-pound breaking strength. It uses a 7 x 7 strand core construction, meaning 7 groups of 7 individual wires twisted together, which gives the cable a balance of flexibility and tensile strength suited to demanding rigging and lifting applications. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance in outdoor and high-moisture environments. At 52.89 pounds per unit, this is a substantial spool intended for professional installation by riggers, millwrights, electricians, or mechanical contractors who work with wire rope systems regularly.
This aircraft cable is appropriate for commercial and industrial applications where a flexible, high-strength wire rope is required. Typical uses include overhead lifting assemblies, tension rigging, guy wire installations, safety restraint lines, and mechanical control runs. The 7 x 7 strand configuration makes it more pliable than stiffer 1 x 19 constructions, which is an advantage in applications requiring routing around sheaves or pulleys. Both indoor and outdoor installations are viable given the galvanized finish.
Designed as a general-purpose 1/4-inch galvanized aircraft cable suitable for use with standard 1/4-inch wire rope hardware including swage fittings, cable clamps, thimbles, and turnbuckles rated to match the cable diameter and breaking strength.
Aircraft cable installation should be performed by a qualified rigger, millwright, or licensed contractor familiar with applicable ASME B30 rigging standards and local safety codes. De-energize any adjacent electrical systems and relieve mechanical loads before replacing or tensioning cable runs. Use only hardware rated for 1/4-inch wire rope and matched to the cable breaking strength. Never kink, crush, or bend the cable around a radius smaller than the minimum bend radius specified for 7 x 7 strand construction, as this will degrade tensile performance.
