The VALUE COLLECTION VT1448PS is a metric hex head cap screw designed for general-purpose fastening in mechanical assemblies, fabrication, and maintenance applications. It is manufactured from Grade 8.8 steel with a bright, uncoated finish. The fastener features a partially threaded shank, measures M4 x 0.70 thread pitch with a 45 mm length under the head, and uses a 7 mm hex drive. Grade 8.8 designates a medium-strength carbon steel fastener suitable for structural and non-critical load-bearing joints. This screw conforms to DIN 931 and ISO 4014 dimensional standards. Installation is performed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and mechanical contractors working on metric-standard equipment and assemblies.
This fastener is suited for use in light to medium-duty bolted connections where metric thread standards are required. The partially threaded shank allows the unthreaded grip section to bear shear loads while the threaded end engages a nut or threaded hole. Typical applications include machinery frames, equipment panels, motor mounts, and structural brackets requiring a reliable, dimensionally standardized metric fastener. The uncoated finish is appropriate for indoor or protected environments where additional corrosion resistance is not required.
Designed as a DIN 931 and ISO 4014 conforming M4 x 0.70 partially threaded hex cap screw, compatible with any standard metric M4 x 0.70 threaded hole or hex nut of matching pitch.
Installation is performed by hand-threading into a clean, properly tapped M4 x 0.70 hole or onto a matching hex nut before final tightening with a metric hex wrench or socket. Verify thread engagement and mating hole condition before applying torque. Do not cross-thread or over-torque, as Grade 8.8 fasteners at this size are susceptible to thread stripping if installation torque exceeds the fastener specification. Follow applicable fastener standards and equipment manufacturer guidelines for final torque values.
