The VALUE COLLECTION TPEG2.521PICC66 is a solid carbide turning insert with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. The insert follows the TPEG style with a triangular shape (60-degree included angle) and an 11-degree positive relief angle, which reduces cutting forces and promotes free cutting action. The 5/16-inch (0.3125 inch) inscribed circle and 1/64-inch (0.0156 inch) corner radius make this insert well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are priorities. It is sold individually and requires a minimum order of 10 units.
This insert is appropriate for turning operations on steel and stainless steel workpiece materials, consistent with its primary workpiece material codes P and M. The ICC66 grade designation places it in the C6 carbide material grade range, making it a practical choice for medium-to-high speed turning of ferrous metals. Typical applications include shaft turning, facing, and contour turning in production and job-shop environments. Insert seating and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified procedure — do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can fracture under excessive clamping load. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's guidelines for insert orientation and cutting data recommendations when setting feed rates and depths of cut.
