The VALUE COLLECTION TEV80224 is a Dash 224 O-ring constructed with a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) FEP encapsulation over a Viton or silicone elastomer core. It measures 1.75 inches inside diameter, 2 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick with a round cross section. The seamless, uniform Teflon FEP encapsulation completely encloses the core, delivering the chemical and temperature resistance of solid PTFE while retaining the elasticity and recovery properties of an elastomer. With a hardness rating of 80 (Hard), this O-ring is suited for demanding sealing applications where standard rubber compounds fall short. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and industrial service professionals install these in systems requiring broad chemical compatibility and a wide service temperature range.
This O-ring is appropriate for use in fluid handling, refrigeration, chemical processing, and plumbing systems where exposure to aggressive media or wide temperature swings is common. The PTFE encapsulation makes it a suitable alternative to solid PTFE rings in applications requiring a reliable face or static seal. It handles service temperatures from -75 degrees F to 400 degrees F, making it viable in both low-temperature refrigerant circuits and high-temperature process lines. Sold individually, it is a direct replacement-grade component for maintenance, repair, and retrofit work across residential and commercial installations.
Designed as a standard Dash 224 O-ring replacement for static or face-seal applications in fluid handling, plumbing, refrigeration, and chemical process systems where PTFE-level chemical resistance is required.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or industrial maintenance technicians. Shut off all fluid flow and depressurize the system before removing the existing O-ring. Inspect the seating groove for damage or debris before seating the new ring. Avoid stretching or twisting the O-ring during installation to preserve encapsulation integrity.
