The VALUE COLLECTION TEV80220 is a Dash 220 O-ring with a polytetrafluoroethylene-encapsulated Viton core, designed for sealing applications that demand broad chemical resistance and an extended temperature range. The PTFE encapsulation protects the Viton elastomer from aggressive fluids and gases, while the underlying Viton material maintains elasticity across a working temperature range of -75 degrees F to 400 degrees F. With a round cross section, 1.375-inch inside diameter, 1.625-inch outside diameter, and 0.125-inch thickness, this O-ring fits standard Dash 220 groove dimensions. The hardness rating of 80 Shore A provides a firm, reliable seal under compression. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and mechanical contractors use this type of O-ring in high-temperature or chemically demanding service environments.
This O-ring is suited for residential and commercial applications where conventional nitrile or EPDM O-rings fail due to chemical exposure, elevated temperatures, or aggressive media. Common installation scenarios include pump housings, valve bodies, compressor fittings, and fluid handling systems where a Dash 220 cross section is required. The PTFE encapsulation makes it a practical choice in applications involving fuels, oils, solvents, and steam where sealing integrity is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for any application requiring a standard Dash 220 O-ring with PTFE-encapsulated Viton material in pump, valve, compressor, or fluid system sealing applications.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or mechanical contractors. Always depressurize and drain the system before removing or replacing O-rings to prevent injury and fluid release. Inspect the mating groove for nicks, corrosion, or debris before seating the new O-ring. Avoid using petroleum-based lubricants with Viton or PTFE materials; use a compatible assembly lubricant appropriate for the service fluid.
