The VALUE COLLECTION TES70222 is a Dash 222 PTFE-encapsulated silicone O-ring designed for sealing applications that demand both broad chemical resistance and reliable elastomeric recovery. The ring measures 1.5 inches inside diameter, 1.75 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick, with a round cross section. A seamless FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) Teflon encapsulation completely encloses a silicone or Viton elastomer core, delivering the chemical and temperature resistance of solid PTFE combined with the flexibility needed for effective sealing. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and industrial maintenance professionals install this type of seal in fluid and gas handling systems where aggressive media or wide temperature swings are present.
This O-ring is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC refrigerant circuit components, chemical fluid systems, and food-processing-adjacent piping where elevated chemical resistance is required. Its rated operating range of -75 degrees F to 400 degrees F makes it appropriate for both cryogenic-adjacent and high-heat service conditions. The hard (70 Shore) durometer rating supports use in higher-pressure sealing grooves where softer elastomers would extrude or deform under load.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service seal for any application requiring a standard Dash 222 O-ring with PTFE-encapsulated silicone construction, including fluid handling valves, pump fittings, and piping connections sized for a 1.5-inch ID groove.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or industrial maintenance technicians. Always depressurize and isolate the system, and purge any residual fluid or refrigerant before removing the existing seal. Inspect the groove for burrs, scoring, or debris that could compromise the new seal or damage the encapsulation layer. Do not use petroleum-based lubricants on PTFE-encapsulated rings; consult the system manufacturer for an approved assembly lubricant compatible with FEP and the process fluid.
