The VALUE COLLECTION TES70117 is a Dash 117 O-ring with a polytetrafluoroethylene-encapsulated silicone core, designed for sealing applications that demand both chemical resistance and elastomeric recovery. The inner diameter measures 0.799 inches, the outer diameter measures 1.000 inches, and the cross-section thickness is 0.0937 inches (3/32 inches). The round cross-section profile features seamless, uniform FEP-PTFE encapsulation that fully encloses a silicone elastomer core. With a hardness rating of 70 Shore A and a rated temperature range of -75 degrees F to 400 degrees F, this O-ring is suited for demanding thermal and chemical environments. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers.
This O-ring is appropriate for use in fluid handling, process piping, chemical transfer lines, and plumbing systems where standard nitrile or EPDM materials are insufficient. The PTFE encapsulation provides resistance to aggressive chemicals and elevated temperatures while the silicone core retains the flexibility and recovery properties needed for a reliable static or low-dynamic seal. It is commonly specified in food-processing-adjacent and industrial process applications where chemical exposure is a concern, though it does not carry FDA approval.
Designed as a standard Dash 117 O-ring replacement suitable for any application requiring a PTFE-encapsulated silicone O-ring with an inside diameter of 0.799 inches and an outside diameter of 1.000 inches.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or qualified maintenance technicians. Depressurize and drain the affected line completely before removing the existing O-ring. Inspect the groove for damage, burrs, or corrosion prior to seating the new ring. Avoid using petroleum-based lubricants with PTFE-encapsulated rings; use a compatible silicone or PTFE-based lubricant if needed to ease installation.
