The VALUE COLLECTION TES70112 is a Dash 112 O-ring constructed with a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) FEP encapsulation over a silicone elastomer core. The seamless Teflon FEP outer shell completely encloses the core material, combining the broad chemical and temperature resistance of solid PTFE with the elasticity and recovery properties of silicone. This round cross-section O-ring measures 0.500 inches inside diameter, 0.688 inches outside diameter, and 0.094 inches thick, with a hardness rating of 70 Shore. It is suited for static and dynamic sealing applications in plumbing, chemical handling, food processing equipment, and HVAC fluid systems where aggressive media or wide temperature swings rule out standard elastomer seals.
This O-ring is appropriate for use in systems requiring resistance to a wide range of chemicals and temperatures spanning -75 degrees F to 400 degrees F. The PTFE encapsulation makes it suitable for environments where standard nitrile or EPDM O-rings would degrade due to solvent, acid, or steam exposure. Typical install scenarios include pump housings, valve stems, fittings, and fluid-handling assemblies in light industrial, commercial, and trade service applications. It is sold individually and is compatible with standard Dash 112 O-ring grooves per industry groove standards.
Designed as a direct dimensional replacement for standard Dash 112 O-ring positions requiring PTFE-encapsulated silicone sealing material in plumbing, HVAC, and fluid-handling assemblies.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or industrial maintenance professionals. Shut off fluid supply and depressurize the system fully before removing the existing O-ring. Inspect the groove for nicks, burrs, or corrosion that could compromise the seal. Avoid using petroleum-based lubricants on PTFE-encapsulated O-rings; consult the equipment manufacturer for an approved assembly lubricant compatible with PTFE surfaces.
