The VALUE COLLECTION STC2008 is a cobalt M42 T-slot cutter designed for milling T-slots in machine tool tables, fixtures, and workholding components. The cutter measures 2.5 inches in diameter with a 0.5 inch cutting width and mounts on a 1 inch diameter shank. The M42 cobalt high-speed steel construction provides elevated heat and wear resistance compared to standard M2 HSS, making it well suited for harder workpiece materials and higher-feed applications. A staggered 12-tooth configuration reduces cutting forces and helps evacuate chips cleanly through the full slot depth.
This T-slot cutter is used in manual and CNC knee mills, horizontal mills, and machining centers where standard T-slot profiles must be cut after an initial slot has been roughed in with a standard end mill. It is appropriate for production shops, toolrooms, and maintenance departments machining T-slots in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials. The 6.625 inch overall length provides adequate clearance for most standard mill table setups.
Designed as a direct-mount T-slot cutter for use with standard 1 inch bore arbors and milling machine spindles accepting a 1 inch shank. Confirm T-slot profile dimensions against workpiece drawing before cutting.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with milling machine setup and cutter arbor mounting procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the cutter. Secure the arbor draw bar to the manufacturer-specified engagement before beginning a cut. Follow shop-standard speeds and feeds for cobalt HSS tooling based on workpiece material and depth of cut.
