The VALUE COLLECTION ST0720028 is a bridge reamer designed for enlarging and aligning holes in structural steel, fabrication, and heavy metalworking applications. Built from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer features a 7/16 inch diameter, a 4-3/8 inch spiral flute length, and an overall length of 8-1/4 inches. The left-hand spiral, right-hand cut geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and a clean, accurate bore finish. A No. 2 Morse Taper shank provides rigid, centered seating in compatible drill presses, lathes, and reaming fixtures. With 5 flutes and a small end diameter of 7/32 inch, this tool is well suited to production and maintenance environments where consistent hole quality is required.
Bridge reamers are standard tooling in structural steel erection, ironwork, and general fabrication shops. This reamer is used when bolt holes in beams, plates, and structural members must be brought to final size or aligned during assembly. It is commonly driven in drill presses, magnetic drills, or manual reaming fixtures. Licensed ironworkers, machinists, and fabricators use bridge reamers during both new construction and repair work. The No. 2 Morse Taper shank fits standard MT2 spindles found on most shop-grade drill presses and lathes without an adapter.
Designed for use in any machine spindle or fixture accepting a No. 2 Morse Taper (2MT) shank. Suitable for reaming mild steel, structural steel, and similar ferrous materials in standard bridge reamer applications.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists, fabricators, or licensed ironworkers using a drill press, lathe, or compatible reaming fixture with an MT2 spindle. Always power down and lock out the machine before seating or removing the taper shank. Use cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve bore finish. Do not force or hammer the taper shank into the spindle; a firm hand press or draw-in bar is sufficient for proper seating.
