The VALUE COLLECTION ST0240132 is a 12-flute high-speed steel (HSS) chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled or bored holes to a precise 1.5000-inch diameter. The spiral right-hand flute geometry promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces chatter, producing a clean, accurate bore surface. A No. 4 Morse Taper (4MT) shank seats directly into compatible Morse taper sockets on drill presses, lathes, and machining centers. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for HSS tooling used across general-purpose ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With an overall length of 12-1/2 inches and a 3-1/2-inch flute length, this reamer handles through-holes and moderately deep blind bores in production and job-shop environments.
This reamer is suited for machine-shop applications where a final reamed diameter of 1-1/2 inches is required. Typical use cases include finishing holes in fixture plates, pump housings, shaft bores, and structural components. It is installed by machinists on manual lathes, knee mills, or drill presses equipped with a No. 4 Morse Taper spindle or sleeve adapter. Right-hand cutting direction matches standard spindle rotation. The 12-flute configuration is appropriate for finishing passes with light stock removal — typically following a roughing operation that leaves 0.005 to 0.015 inches of material.
Designed for use in any machine tool equipped with a No. 4 Morse Taper (4MT) spindle socket or sleeve, including drill presses, engine lathes, and machining centers configured for 4MT tooling.
This reamer is installed by qualified machinists. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the Morse taper shank. Ensure the taper socket is clean and free of chips or oil film before insertion to prevent slippage. Use a proper drift and drift slot to remove the shank — never strike the reamer body directly. Apply cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material and take a light, consistent finishing pass.
