The VALUE COLLECTION ST0240128 is a high-speed steel (HSS) chucking reamer designed to finish-ream bored or drilled holes to a precise 1-7/16 inch (1.4375 inch) diameter. The tool features a 10-flute spiral configuration with right-hand cutting and right-hand spiral direction, producing smooth, accurate hole walls with minimal chatter. A 4MT Morse taper shank seats directly into compatible taper-shank holders or sleeves on drill presses, lathes, and machining centers. The bright, uncoated HSS construction suits general-purpose reaming in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and tool-room operators rely on this reamer for production and maintenance applications where hole size and finish tolerances matter.
This chucking reamer is suited for machine-tool environments including drill presses, engine lathes, turret lathes, and CNC turning centers equipped to accept a 4MT Morse taper shank. At 12 inches overall length with a 3-1/4 inch flute length, it provides adequate reach for through-holes and moderate-depth blind holes in workpieces encountered in job-shop, maintenance, and light production settings. It is not configured as a dowel-pin reamer and is not an over- or under-size reamer, making it a standard nominal-size tool for direct-fit applications.
Designed for use in drill presses, engine lathes, turret lathes, and machining centers that accept a 4MT (No. 4 Morse taper) shank; a reducing sleeve is required when mounting in spindles with a smaller taper bore.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with taper-shank tooling. Before mounting, clean and inspect both the taper shank and the spindle bore for nicks or debris that could affect seating. Always bring the machine to a full stop before inserting or removing the reamer from the spindle. Use correct cutting fluid for the workpiece material to promote tool life and surface finish quality.
