The VALUE COLLECTION ST0240124 is a high-speed steel (HSS) chucking reamer designed to finish-ream holes to a precise 1.3750-inch diameter in metal workpieces. The 10-flute spiral configuration with right-hand cutting and right-hand spiral direction produces a smooth bore finish while evacuating chips efficiently. A No. 4 Morse Taper (4MT) shank seats securely in compatible machine spindles. Overall length is 12 inches with a 3-1/4-inch flute length, giving machinists reach and cutting surface suited for production and toolroom environments. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for general-purpose HSS reamers. Installed by machinists and tool-room operators on lathes, drill presses, or boring mills.
This chucking reamer is intended for machine reaming applications requiring a finished hole diameter of 1-3/8 inches. The 4MT shank makes it compatible with lathes and milling machines equipped with a No. 4 Morse Taper spindle or tailstock. Typical use cases include sizing pre-drilled or rough-bored holes in steel, cast iron, and similar metals where tight dimensional tolerance and surface finish are required. The 10-flute design is well suited for finishing cuts rather than heavy stock removal.
Designed for use in lathes, drill presses, or boring mills equipped with a No. 4 Morse Taper spindle or tailstock socket. Suited for machine reaming of ferrous and non-ferrous metals where a 1-3/8-inch finished diameter is required.
Machine reaming should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard shop safety practices. Power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the reamer from the spindle. Ensure the 4MT shank and spindle socket are clean and free of chips or burrs before seating to prevent runout. Always use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material, and never use a chucking reamer as a hand reamer or apply side-loading force.
