The VALUE COLLECTION ST0240116 is a chucking reamer designed to finish-ream precision bores to a 1.2500-inch diameter in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer features 10 spiral flutes with a right-hand cutting direction for smooth, accurate material removal. The 4MT (No. 4 Morse Taper) shank seats directly into compatible machine spindles, providing rigid, concentric drive without a separate chuck. At 11.5 inches overall length with a 3-inch flute length, it is sized for mid-depth boring operations on drill presses, lathes, and milling machines. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users of this tool.
This chucking reamer is suited for production and maintenance machining environments where hole tolerances require a finishing pass after drilling. It is appropriate for use in ferrous and non-ferrous metals including steel, cast iron, and aluminum. The Morse taper shank allows direct mounting in machine spindles equipped with a No. 4 Morse Taper socket, which is common on mid-size and large drill presses and lathes. It is not configured as a dowel pin reamer and is not an over or under-size variant, making it a standard finishing reamer for nominal 1-1/4-inch bore specifications.
Designed as a standard finishing chucking reamer for use in machine spindles accepting a No. 4 Morse Taper shank, including mid-size and large drill presses, engine lathes, and milling machines configured for 4MT tooling.
This tool is installed by machinists and tool-and-die technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or removing the Morse taper shank. Ensure the spindle socket and taper shank are clean and free of chips or burrs before insertion to maintain concentricity. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and achieve the specified finish tolerance.
