The VALUE COLLECTION ST0140148 is a chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal machining applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers accurate sizing and smooth bore surfaces in production and job-shop environments. The reamer measures 1.750 inches in diameter with a 14-1/2 inch overall length and a 4 inch straight flute section. A 4MT Morse taper shank provides secure, positive drive in drill press, lathe, or boring machine spindles. With 12 right-hand cutting flutes, this tool removes material uniformly and produces consistent finished hole dimensions. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users of this style of reamer.
This chucking reamer is suited for reaming through-holes and blind holes in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar machinable materials. It is intended for use in machine spindles rather than hand operation. The 4MT taper shank is compatible with drill press quills, lathe tailstocks, and boring mill spindles that accept a No. 4 Morse taper socket. The 4 inch flute length accommodates moderate stock removal to bring drilled or bored holes to final tolerance. Typical applications include production machining, repair and maintenance shops, and toolroom work where bore accuracy and surface finish are critical.
Designed for use in machine spindles, lathe tailstocks, drill presses, and boring mills equipped with a No. 4 Morse taper (4MT) socket. Not intended for hand reaming use.
A licensed machinist or trained toolroom operator should install and operate this reamer. Before mounting, ensure the spindle taper socket and reamer shank taper are clean and free of chips or burrs, as contamination will affect runout and hole accuracy. Power down the machine completely before inserting or removing the taper shank. Use the appropriate drift and drift slot to remove the reamer from the spindle — never strike the reamer body directly. Confirm proper cutting fluid application for the workpiece material to promote surface finish and tool life.
