The VALUE COLLECTION SS6X16050-025BX is a metric hex socket cup point set screw used to secure components onto shafts, spindles, and assemblies without a protruding head. Manufactured from 18-8 stainless steel to Austenitic Grade A2 classification, it delivers corrosion resistance suitable for general industrial, marine-adjacent, and food-processing environments. The cup point end bites into the mating surface to resist axial and rotational movement. Thread size is M16 x 2.00 with an overall length of 50 mm. Drive is an 8.00 mm internal hex (Allen key). Conforms to DIN 916 dimensional and performance standards.
This set screw is intended for use in mechanical assemblies where a flush or recessed fastener is required. Typical applications include shaft collars, pulleys, gears, couplings, and positioning fixtures. The cup point geometry is well suited for permanent or semi-permanent installations where the point is intended to indent the mating shaft surface to lock position under vibration or load. Stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for environments where carbon steel fasteners would corrode prematurely.
Designed as a DIN 916 compliant metric set screw suitable for use in any M16 x 2.00 tapped bore requiring a cup point headless fastener in stainless steel construction.
Installation requires an 8.00 mm hex key or Allen driver; use of a calibrated torque wrench is recommended to avoid stripping the drive socket or over-stressing the stainless steel. Clean and inspect the tapped bore before installation to ensure threads are free of debris and damage. Stainless steel fasteners are susceptible to galling — apply an anti-seize compound rated for stainless hardware before threading in. Follow applicable mechanical assembly standards and facility safety lockout procedures before working on powered shafts or rotating equipment.
