The VALUE COLLECTION SS-TU-FT6-FT4 is a stainless steel compression tube union designed to join two tubing runs with differing outside diameters in a single inline fitting. It accepts a 3/8-inch OD tube on one end and a 1/4-inch OD tube on the other, using compression-style connections on both ends for a secure, tool-assisted seal without welding or brazing. Manufactured from 316 stainless steel to ASTM A182, A213, A269, A276, and A479 standards, this union is suited for instrumentation, refrigeration, and fluid-handling lines where corrosion resistance and leak-tight integrity are required. Licensed tradespeople working on process piping, HVAC instrumentation tubing, or hydraulic systems are the primary installers.
This fitting is used in applications where two compression tube lines of different diameters must be joined inline without the use of solder, flare tools, or threaded pipe fittings. Typical install scenarios include instrument tubing runs in commercial HVAC systems, pneumatic control lines, and light-process fluid systems where stainless steel is specified for corrosion resistance. The compression-by-compression end configuration makes it compatible with standard compression ferrule assemblies and requires no special adapters at either port.
Designed as an OEM-style compression tube union compatible with standard compression ferrule systems using 3/8-inch OD and 1/4-inch OD tubing. The Swagelok equivalent reference part number is SS-600-6-4.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or HVAC technicians working on instrumentation or process tubing systems. Before installation, depressurize and isolate the tubing circuit completely and verify that tubing ends are cut square and free of burrs. Hand-tighten the compression nuts before applying the appropriate number of wrench turns per the fitting manufacturer torque procedure for the tubing wall thickness in use. Refer to applicable IPC or ASME B31 piping codes for system pressure testing requirements after assembly.
