The VALUE COLLECTION SS-RF-FT2 is a stainless steel compression tube back ferrule designed for use in two-piece compression fittings on tubing with a 1/8 inch outside diameter. The back ferrule seats behind the front ferrule in a standard compression assembly, creating the mechanical grip and secondary seal that locks the tubing in place when the fitting nut is tightened. Manufactured from 316 stainless steel, this ferrule meets multiple ASTM and DIN material standards. It has an overall length of 0.08 inches (2.03 mm) and weighs approximately 0.01 pounds. Plumbers, instrumentation technicians, and HVAC contractors use this component in fluid and gas handling systems where corrosion resistance and leak-free connections are required.
This back ferrule is suited for instrumentation tubing, hydraulic and pneumatic lines, and process piping assemblies where 1/8 inch OD tubing is connected using standard two-piece compression fitting hardware. Typical applications include instrument manifolds, sample lines, chemical injection systems, and compressed gas distribution in both commercial and industrial environments. The 316 stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for corrosive media and elevated-temperature service within the rating of the overall fitting assembly.
Referenced against Swagelok part number SS-204-1. Designed for use as a back ferrule component in standard two-piece compression tube fittings accepting 1/8 inch OD tubing. Verify fitting body manufacturer specifications before installation.
Installation is performed by instrumentation technicians, licensed plumbers, or HVAC technicians depending on the system type. Depressurize and isolate the line completely before disassembling any compression fitting. The back ferrule is inserted onto the tubing behind the front ferrule before the nut is threaded onto the fitting body. Follow the fitting manufacturer torque and turn count instructions for proper compression — do not over-tighten, as ferrules are not reusable once fully swaged.
