The VALUE COLLECTION SNI2112-015BX is a hex slotted lock nut designed to resist loosening under vibration and dynamic loading. Manufactured from Grade 2 steel with a bright uncoated finish, this nut follows the UNC (Unified National Coarse) fastener standard with a 1-1/8-7 thread size and right-hand thread direction. It measures 29/32 inches in height and 1-11/16 inches across the flats. The slotted design accepts a cotter pin or safety wire when paired with a drilled fastener, making it a reliable choice in mechanical assemblies where positional retention is required. Installers in plumbing, HVAC, and general mechanical trades use this nut when standard hex nuts are not sufficient to prevent rotation.
This lock nut is suited for use in industrial, commercial, and residential mechanical assemblies where a UNC 1-1/8-7 thread engagement is specified. Common applications include shaft and bearing retention, structural bolted connections, and equipment mounting where vibration or cyclical loading is present. The inch-measurement system and UNC thread form make it compatible with standard fractional fastener systems found throughout North American trade and manufacturing environments. It does not meet military specifications and is not intended for mil-spec applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service nut for mechanical assemblies using 1-1/8-7 UNC threaded fasteners in inch-measurement systems.
Installation is performed by general mechanics, millwrights, plumbers, and HVAC technicians using a standard open-end or box wrench sized for 1-11/16 inches across the flats. De-energize, depressurize, or lock out the equipment before servicing any fastened assembly. When used as a slotted lock nut, a cotter pin should be inserted through the slot and a drilled bolt or shaft to complete the locking feature. Do not reuse a cotter pin once it has been bent.
