The VALUE COLLECTION SMPFI0-600500-100BX is a No. 6 flat head sheet metal screw with a Phillips drive, designed for fastening thin metal panels, brackets, ductwork, and light-gauge steel components. It measures 0.5 inches in overall length and is manufactured from Grade 2 steel with a zinc finish that provides basic corrosion resistance. The Type AB point type allows the screw to self-start in pre-punched or pre-drilled holes, making it a common choice for repetitive production assembly and field installation work. This box contains 100 screws. HVAC technicians, electricians, and sheet metal workers install these fasteners during duct fabrication, panel mounting, and enclosure assembly.
This screw is suited for light-gauge sheet metal applications in residential and commercial settings. Typical uses include securing HVAC duct flanges, electrical enclosure panels, junction box covers, and metal framing components. The flat head sits flush with the material surface once driven, making it appropriate where a low-profile finish is required. The Phillips drive is compatible with standard No. 2 Phillips bits used on power drivers and manual screwdrivers common to all trade toolkits.
Designed as a standard No. 6 Type AB sheet metal screw suitable for use in light-gauge steel panels, duct assemblies, enclosures, and similar thin-metal fastening applications.
Sheet metal screws of this type are installed by HVAC technicians, electricians, and sheet metal workers using a No. 2 Phillips bit on a power driver or manual screwdriver. Verify that the receiving material is pre-punched or pre-drilled to the appropriate pilot hole diameter for a No. 6 screw before driving. Do not overdrive — the flat head should sit flush without deforming the surrounding metal. Work on de-energized electrical enclosures and isolated duct sections before fastening to comply with applicable NEC and SMACNA guidelines.
