The VALUE COLLECTION SM2200348 is a straight-flute shell reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. Built from high-speed steel, this reamer delivers consistent sizing and surface finish on pre-drilled or bored holes. It measures 3.75 inches in diameter with a 5-inch overall length and accepts a No. 12 arbor through its 2-inch center hole. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard spindle rotation on mills, lathes, and drill presses. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals reach for shell reamers when dimensional accuracy and bore finish quality are critical to the job.
This shell reamer is intended for use in machine shop environments handling medium-to-large bore finishing operations. The 3.75-inch diameter makes it appropriate for larger bores in industrial fixtures, heavy equipment components, and structural assemblies. It is installed on a compatible No. 12 arbor and driven by a machine spindle rather than by hand. The straight flute geometry works well in through-holes and in materials that do not produce stringy chips, including cast iron, brass, and certain steels.
Designed for use with a No. 12 shell reamer arbor. Suitable as a machine-driven shell reamer for large-bore finishing on mills, lathes, and similar machine tools.
Shell reamers are installed by machinists onto a matching arbor before mounting in the machine spindle. Always confirm the arbor number matches the reamer center hole specification before use. Power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the reamer. Take care not to hand-ream with a machine shell reamer, as it is not designed for that application.
