The VALUE COLLECTION SM2200224 is a straight-flute shell reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from high-speed steel, this reamer delivers consistent sizing and surface finish in through-holes and bored workpieces. It measures 2.375 inches in diameter with an overall length of 3.75 inches. The 1.25-inch center hole accepts a No. 9 arbor, allowing the tool to mount on a standard shell reamer arbor for use in drill press, milling machine, or lathe setups. Right-hand cutting direction suits conventional machining practice.
This shell reamer is suited for production and maintenance machining environments where hole diameter accuracy and finish quality are required. It is used on lathes, knee mills, and drill presses by machinists and tool-and-die professionals finishing pre-bored or pre-drilled holes to close tolerance. The straight flute geometry works well in most ferrous and non-ferrous materials where chatter control is not a primary concern.
Designed for use with a No. 9 shell reamer arbor. Fits standard arbors with a 1.25-inch pilot diameter. Verify arbor taper and drive key dimensions before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Mount the shell reamer onto a compatible No. 9 arbor before securing in the spindle. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and achieve the target surface finish.
