The VALUE COLLECTION SM1900020 is a straight-flute hand reamer designed to finish-ream drilled or bored holes to a precise 5/16-inch diameter. Constructed from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this reamer delivers consistent sizing and surface finish in a wide range of metals and engineering materials. The 6-flute configuration distributes cutting load evenly, reducing chatter and improving hole roundness. With a 2-1/4-inch flute length and 4-1/2-inch overall length, the tool is well suited for through-holes and blind holes in light- to medium-duty production and maintenance work. Machinists and tool-and-die tradespeople reach for hand reamers at the bench vise or in hand-held drill drivers when tight tolerances are required.
This hand reamer is intended for manual or low-speed machine reaming operations where controlled stock removal and accurate final bore size are the priority. The straight shank seats directly in a tap wrench, chuck, or reamer driver. Typical applications include sizing holes in fittings, brackets, and machined components in HVAC fabrication shops, plumbing prefab operations, and general metalworking environments. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional clockwise rotation.
Designed as an OEM-style hand reamer replacement for use in standard tap wrenches, chuck-mounted drivers, and bench reaming setups requiring a 5/16-inch finished bore diameter.
Hand reamers are installed and operated by machinists or qualified tradespeople familiar with cutting tool safety. Secure the workpiece firmly before reaming and apply a suitable cutting fluid to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Always rotate in the cutting direction only — reversing rotation under load will damage the flute edges. Follow applicable shop safety standards for eye protection and chip management when working with metal-cutting tools.
