The VALUE COLLECTION SM1500011 is a chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled holes to a precise 11/64 inch (0.1719 inch decimal) diameter. Built from cobalt steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool delivers the hardness and heat resistance needed for reaming steel, cast iron, and other ferrous materials. The 6-flute, right-hand spiral design provides smooth cutting action and efficient chip evacuation. At 4-1/2 inches overall length with a 1-1/8 inch flute length and a straight-cylindrical shank, it mounts directly in standard drill chucks or collet holders on lathes, drill presses, and CNC machining centers. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals reach for this reamer when dimensional accuracy and surface finish matter.
This reamer is suited for production and maintenance environments where through-holes or blind holes require tight-tolerance finishing after drilling. The straight-cylindrical shank allows secure gripping in a wide range of machine tool holders without an adapter. Right-hand cutting direction means the tool operates with conventional spindle rotation. The cobalt steel construction makes it a reliable choice when cutting harder workpiece materials or when operating at elevated temperatures that would reduce the life of standard high-speed steel tooling.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in drill presses, lathes, and CNC machining centers equipped with drill chucks or collet systems accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the 0.1500 to 0.1999 inch diameter range.
A licensed machinist or qualified tool operator should secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck or collet before operation, verifying runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or inspecting tooling. Apply an appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Never force a reamer into an undersized pilot hole — pre-drill to the correct diameter before reaming.
