The VALUE COLLECTION SM0407550 is a straight-flute chucking reamer machined from high-speed steel (HSS) and designed for precision hole finishing in metal workpieces. With a reamer diameter of 0.7550 inches and an overall length of 9.5 inches, this tool produces accurate, smooth bores when used in a drill press, lathe, or CNC machine. The 2.5-inch straight flute length provides adequate chip clearance for through-hole and shallow blind-hole applications. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for general-purpose HSS reamers used across ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance technicians typically install and operate this tool.
This chucking reamer is suited for production and job-shop environments where consistent hole tolerance is required. The straight-cylindrical shank allows direct clamping in a drill chuck, collet, or tool holder without additional adapters. Right-hand cutting direction makes it compatible with standard spindle rotation. It is appropriate for finishing pre-drilled or bored holes in steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, and similar materials where close-tolerance fits are specified.
Designed for use in drill presses, engine lathes, CNC machining centers, and similar machine tools equipped with a drill chuck or collet capable of accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for finishing holes in the 0.7000 to 0.9999 inch decimal-inch diameter range when the correct reamer size is selected for the application.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists and trained maintenance technicians. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a properly sized drill chuck or collet before use, and verify runout is within acceptable limits before beginning the cut. Always reduce spindle speed relative to drilling and apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material. Never reverse spindle direction while the reamer is engaged in the hole, as this can damage the cutting edges.
