The VALUE COLLECTION SM0406320 is a high-speed steel (HSS) chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled or bored holes to a precise 0.6320-inch diameter. It features a straight-cylindrical shank for secure, concentric grip in a drill chuck or collet, and six straight flutes ground to a right-hand cutting direction. The overall length is 9 inches, with a 2.25-inch flute length providing the cutting zone. A bright, uncoated finish is standard. This tool is used by machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians to achieve tight dimensional tolerances and smooth bore finishes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This chucking reamer suits general-purpose hole finishing operations on manual lathes, drill presses, CNC machining centers, and turret mills. It is appropriate for through-holes and blind holes within the 0.5000- to 0.6999-inch reamer diameter range. Typical applications include production machining, maintenance and repair operations (MRO), and toolroom work where a close-tolerance bore finish is required. The straight flute geometry makes it well-suited for interrupted cuts and non-ferrous materials such as aluminum and brass, as well as softer steels.
Designed as a general-purpose chucking reamer for use in any machine tool equipped with a drill chuck or straight-shank collet capable of accepting the straight-cylindrical shank. Fits within the 0.5000- to 0.6999-inch reamer diameter range classification.
Install the reamer in a clean, properly sized drill chuck or collet and verify runout before cutting to protect bore finish and tool life. Power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Feed rate and spindle speed should be set per standard HSS reamer guidelines for the specific workpiece material — consult a machining handbook for starting parameters. Always ream to size from a pre-drilled or bored hole that is appropriately undersized; do not attempt to remove excessive stock in a single reaming pass.
