The VALUE COLLECTION SM0406100 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed to bring bored or drilled holes to a precise finished diameter of 0.6100 inches. Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer delivers consistent cutting performance on a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill press chucks, CNC lathes, or boring machine spindles. With a 9-inch overall length and a 2.25-inch flute length, it provides adequate reach and chip clearance for through-hole and blind-hole finishing work. Licensed machinists, toolroom operators, and maintenance mechanics use this tool where tight bore tolerances are required.
This chucking reamer is suited for machine shop, toolroom, and industrial maintenance applications where hole sizing accuracy is critical. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard clockwise spindle rotation found on drill presses, lathes, and milling machines. It is appropriate for finishing operations in both production and repair environments where a 0.6100-inch finished bore diameter is specified. The straight-cylindrical shank makes it straightforward to secure in collet chucks or standard Jacobs-style chucks without adapter hardware.
Designed as a general-purpose chucking reamer for use in drill presses, lathes, CNC machining centers, and boring machines equipped with chucks or collets that accept a straight-cylindrical shank.
Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the machine chuck or collet before operation and verify runout with an indicator when tolerance is critical. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or inspecting reamers. Apply cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Reaming should follow a drilling or boring operation that leaves the hole within the recommended stock-removal allowance for the finished diameter.
