The VALUE COLLECTION SM0401235 is a chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled or bored holes to a precise 0.1235-inch diameter. Built from high-speed steel (HSS), it delivers the hardness and wear resistance needed for accurate sizing in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials. The bright, uncoated finish is suited for general-purpose reaming where additional coating is not required. Four straight flutes produce a clean, smooth bore finish with consistent chip evacuation. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional machine spindle rotation. This reamer is installed by machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians working with lathes, drill presses, and machining centers.
This chucking reamer is intended for precision hole finishing in machine shop and maintenance environments. The straight-cylindrical shank allows it to be held in standard drill chucks, collets, or floating reamer holders. It is appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole applications in light to medium production work where close-tolerance hole sizing is required. The 0.1235-inch diameter falls within the 0.1000 to 0.1499 inch decimal inch reamer diameter range, making it suitable for small-bore precision work across a range of component materials.
Designed as a general-purpose chucking reamer for use in lathes, drill presses, and machining centers equipped with standard drill chucks or collet systems that accept a straight-cylindrical shank.
Chucking reamers are installed and operated by machinists and maintenance technicians using standard machine tool setups. Ensure the spindle and workpiece are fully secured before operation, and use an appropriate cutting fluid to extend tool life and improve surface finish. The reamer should be run at lower RPM than a comparable drill bit to avoid overheating the HSS cutting edges. Never force the reamer through an undersized hole — pre-drill or bore to the correct pre-ream diameter before use.
