The VALUE COLLECTION SM0100144 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed to bring bored or drilled holes to a precise finished diameter. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer measures 1-11/16 inches (1.6875 inches) in diameter and carries a 13-inch overall length with a 3-5/8-inch flute length. The 10-flute, right-hand cutting geometry delivers a clean, accurate bore finish in a wide range of metals. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in a drill chuck or collet chuck on a lathe, mill, or drill press. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance mechanics rely on this style of reamer for finishing operations that require tight hole tolerances.
This chucking reamer is suited for finishing operations on steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, and similar machinable materials in machine shop, production, and maintenance environments. The 1-11/16-inch diameter puts it in the range used for bearing bores, bushing fits, and precision shaft clearance holes. Right-hand cutting direction makes it compatible with standard spindle rotation on lathes, knee mills, and drill presses. Proper cutting fluid or cutting oil should be applied during use to maintain edge life and bore finish quality.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in any lathe, drill press, or milling machine equipped with a drill chuck or collet capable of holding a straight-cylindrical shank at the appropriate diameter.
Chucking reamers are installed by machinists and maintenance mechanics — secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet before operation. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Apply cutting fluid or cutting oil continuously during the reaming pass to protect the cutting edges and achieve the target bore finish. Never use a chucking reamer to remove excessive stock; pre-drill or bore to within a few thousandths of finished diameter before reaming.
