The VALUE COLLECTION SM0100005 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled holes to a precise diameter in metalworking applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer delivers clean, accurate bores in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 5/64 inch (0.0781 inch decimal) cutting diameter, 3/4 inch flute length, and 3-inch overall length make it well suited for small-bore finishing work in machine shops, tool rooms, and production environments. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders for reliable runout control.
This reamer is intended for use in machine tools such as drill presses, milling machines, lathes, and CNC machining centers where a precise, repeatable hole finish is required. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional machine reaming operations. With a 4-flute straight configuration, it is appropriate for through-holes and blind-hole finishing in close-tolerance work on small-diameter bores. It is typically used by machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians performing precision fit work on metal components.
Designed as a standard machine chucking reamer for use in drill presses, lathes, milling machines, and CNC machining centers equipped with a drill chuck or collet capable of accepting a straight-cylindrical shank at the 5/64 inch diameter range.
Chucking reamers are installed and operated by machinists and toolroom technicians familiar with machine tool setup. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet before operation, and verify runout before cutting. Always reduce spindle speed relative to drilling and apply appropriate cutting fluid to extend tool life and improve bore finish. Do not use a chucking reamer to remove excess stock — pre-drill or bore the hole to within a few thousandths of final diameter before reaming.
