The VALUE COLLECTION SC5060D0 is a high-speed steel countersink designed for countersinking and deburring operations in metal, wood, and composite materials. Featuring a 60-degree included angle and a straight-cylindrical, 1/4-inch shank, this tool mounts directly in standard drill chucks and collet holders without adapters. The bright, uncoated finish suits general-purpose applications where coating longevity is not a primary concern. With a minimum cutting diameter of 1/16 inch and a maximum cutting diameter of 15/64 inch, it handles small-hole chamfering tasks common in precision assembly and fabrication environments. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for most drill press and hand-drill setups.
This countersink is suited for light production and maintenance work in machine shops, fabrication facilities, and assembly lines. The double-end configuration extends usable tool life by providing two cutting ends before replacement is needed. It is appropriate for use on drill presses, CNC machines, or handheld power tools wherever a 1/4-inch straight shank can be secured. Machinists, tool and die technicians, and maintenance mechanics are the primary users of this type of countersink.
Designed as a general-purpose countersink compatible with any tool holder accepting a 1/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank, including standard drill chucks, ER collet systems, and similar workholding used on drill presses and CNC equipment.
Secure the shank firmly in the drill chuck or collet before operation and verify there is no runout before engaging the workpiece. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when countersinking ferrous metals to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Always power down the machine and allow the spindle to come to a full stop before removing or changing the tool. Follow applicable OSHA and shop safety guidelines for rotating cutting tool use.
