The VALUE COLLECTION SC4082020 is a single-end, straight-shank countersink designed for deburring and chamfering operations in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it features an 82-degree included angle and three flutes for smooth, controlled material removal. The 1/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. With a 5/16-inch head diameter and right-hand cutting direction, this countersink is well-suited for creating clean, flush seat profiles for flat-head fasteners. No pilot is included. This tool is installed and used by machinists, toolmakers, and skilled tradespeople working with drill presses, CNC machines, and hand-held drill equipment.
This countersink is appropriate for light to medium countersinking tasks in sheet metal, mild steel, aluminum, and similar materials where an 82-degree chamfer is required to seat flat-head screws flush with the workpiece surface. The 3-flute geometry reduces chatter compared to single-flute designs, producing a cleaner finish in most common shop and field applications. It fits standard 1/4-inch shank toolholders found on benchtop drill presses and portable drills used in fabrication and maintenance environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard countersink tool for use in any toolholder accepting a 1/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank, including drill presses, hand drills, and CNC spindles configured for that shank diameter.
Machinists and tradespeople should secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify that the drill press or driver is powered off before tooling changes. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubrication when countersinking steel to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Follow shop safety protocols and applicable OSHA hand and machine tool guidelines when operating rotary cutting tools.
