The VALUE COLLECTION SC4060100 is a single-end, 3-flute countersink designed for right-hand cutting in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers consistent material removal when creating chamfered seat angles for fastener heads and deburring through-holes. The 60-degree included angle — a 30-degree centerline angle per side — suits standard flat-head fastener specifications across a wide range of workpiece materials. A 0.5-inch straight cylindrical shank seats cleanly in standard drill chucks and collet holders, while the 1.25-inch shank length provides adequate grip depth for secure tool holding under cutting loads.
This countersink is suited for use on drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power drills in light manufacturing, maintenance, and fabrication environments. Machinists, tool-and-die techs, and maintenance mechanics use it for countersinking clearance holes for flat-head machine screws, deburring drilled holes, and preparing workpieces for flush-mount fasteners. The 1-inch head diameter accommodates a range of hole sizes, making it a practical general-purpose tool for shop and field use alike. No pilot is included, so centering accuracy depends on the operator or setup.
Designed as a general-purpose countersink for use in drill chucks, end mill holders, and collet systems accepting a 0.5-inch straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for countersinking flat-head fastener clearance holes in steel, aluminum, brass, plastics, and similar materials.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with proper speeds and feeds for HSS cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout before cutting. Reduce spindle speed relative to standard twist drill speeds for the same material to minimize heat buildup and extend tool life. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use and discontinue use if edge condition is degraded.
