The VALUE COLLECTION SC4060032 is a single-end, straight-shank countersink designed for countersinking operations in metal and wood substrates. It features a 60-degree included angle with a 30-degree centerline angle, making it well suited for standard fastener seat preparation. Constructed from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, the tool delivers reliable cutting performance across a range of general-purpose applications. The 3-flute configuration promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces chatter during operation. With a 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank and a 1/2-inch head diameter, it fits standard drill press and hand-drill chucks without adapters.
This countersink is used in metal fabrication shops, woodworking facilities, and general mechanical assembly environments. It is appropriate for residential and light commercial work where consistent countersink geometry is needed for flat-head fastener installation. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with conventional drill press and power-drill operation. No pilot is included, so the operator controls hole positioning through center-punching or guide fixtures. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and skilled tradespeople will find this a straightforward drop-in tool for everyday countersinking tasks.
Designed as a general-purpose countersink for use with standard 3/8-inch straight-shank drill chucks in drill presses, hand drills, and milling machine setups performing countersinking operations.
Installation is performed by machinists or skilled trades personnel using a drill press, hand drill, or milling machine. Secure the workpiece firmly before operation and confirm the chuck is tightened on the 3/8-inch shank before starting the spindle. Use appropriate cutting fluid for harder metals to prolong tool life and maintain finish quality. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the tool if chipping or wear is evident.
