The VALUE COLLECTION SC3082048 is a 4-flute, single-end countersink designed for right-hand cutting in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers clean, accurate chamfered seats for flat-head fasteners. The 82-degree included angle (41-degree centerline angle) is the standard geometry for imperial flat-head screws, making this a go-to tool for machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians who need consistent countersink geometry without a pilot. The 3/4-inch head diameter and 1/2-inch straight cylindrical shank fit standard drill press chucks and milling machine collets.
This countersink is suited for use in machine shops, fabrication facilities, and production environments where 82-degree flat-head fastener seats are required in steel, aluminum, and similar machinable metals. The straight cylindrical shank seats securely in standard 1/2-inch drill chucks or collet holders on drill presses, milling machines, and CNC machining centers. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both low-volume bench work and higher-volume production runs where a pilotless, multi-flute countersink is preferred for chatter reduction.
Designed as a standard pilotless countersink for use in any drill press, milling machine, or CNC machining center equipped with a 1/2-inch chuck or collet. Compatible with machining of steel, aluminum, and other machinable metals where an 82-degree flat-head fastener seat is required.
Installed by machinists or skilled tradespeople using a drill press, milling machine, or hand-held drill with a 1/2-inch chuck. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and confirm the workpiece is clamped or fixtured to prevent movement. Run at appropriate spindle speeds for the material being cut — consult standard HSS cutting speed charts for the specific workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
