The VALUE COLLECTION SC1082132 is a single-flute countersink designed for producing clean, accurate chamfered holes at an 82-degree included angle. Made from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool is suited for countersinking operations in steel, aluminum, and similar materials. The 1-1/2 inch head diameter and 3/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank provide solid rigidity during use. It cuts in the right-hand direction and is intended for use in drill presses, milling machines, or hand-held power tools with a compatible chuck. Machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians commonly reach for this style of countersink for bolt and screw seat preparation.
This countersink is appropriate for both production and maintenance environments where 82-degree flat-head screw seats are required. The single-flute geometry is effective for controlled material removal and minimizes chatter in softer metals and plastics. With a straight-cylindrical shank, it mounts directly into standard drill chucks without requiring a specialized adapter. Typical applications include countersinking pilot holes in sheet metal, structural components, and fabricated assemblies prior to flush fastener installation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use countersink for drill presses, milling machines, and handheld power tools equipped with a chuck sized to accept a 3/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using standard machine shop practices. Secure the shank firmly in the chuck or collet before operation and verify the workpiece is clamped to prevent movement. Operate at a reduced spindle speed compared to standard twist drills to minimize heat buildup and extend tool life. Inspect the cutting edge before use and do not force the tool into the workpiece if the edge shows signs of dulling.
