The VALUE COLLECTION SC0830060 is a high-speed steel Morse taper core drill designed for enlarging existing holes in metal and other hard materials. It accepts a No. 3 Morse taper (3MT) shank for secure mounting in compatible drill press spindles and milling machine quills. The drill measures 0.9375 inches (15/16 inches) in cutting diameter with an overall length of 10.75 inches and a flute length of 6.125 inches. Four flutes provide balanced cutting action and efficient chip evacuation. An oxide coating helps reduce friction and extend tool life in production drilling applications. This tool is used by machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians in shop environments.
This core drill is suited for production and maintenance drilling operations where a pre-existing pilot hole or cored hole needs to be brought to finished diameter. The 3MT shank makes it compatible with standard drill presses, lathes, and milling machines equipped with a No. 3 Morse taper spindle. Right-hand spiral and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional drilling setups. The oxide finish is appropriate for use in ferrous metals, cast iron, and similar materials. It is typically selected for job shop, manufacturing floor, and maintenance-repair-operations (MRO) environments where consistent hole quality is required.
Designed for use in drill presses, lathes, and milling machines fitted with a No. 3 Morse taper spindle. Intended for enlarging cored or pre-drilled holes; not designed for drilling from solid stock.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with Morse taper tooling. Before mounting or removing the tool, power down and lock out the machine in accordance with applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the Morse taper shank fully into the spindle socket to ensure proper engagement; use a drift and mallet to remove the tool after use. Confirm the workpiece is securely clamped before beginning drilling operations.
