The VALUE COLLECTION SC00187344 is a Morse taper extension adapter designed to bridge an MT3 inside taper to an MT4 outside taper. It extends the reach of tooling mounted in machine spindles or tailstocks where the socket taper size differs from the tool shank taper size. The adapter measures 9.5 inches overall length (OAL) and is constructed from medium carbon steel that has been hardened and ground throughout, delivering the dimensional accuracy and surface finish required for reliable tool concentricity in production or maintenance machine shop environments. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers.
This adapter is suited for use on manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and similar machine tools that use Morse taper tooling. It is particularly useful when an MT3 drill chuck or live center must be seated in an MT4 spindle or tailstock bore. The 9.5-inch OAL provides added reach for deep-hole drilling or extended-workpiece setups where a standard-length adapter would not clear the workpiece or fixture.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or accessory adapter for machine tools equipped with an MT4 receiving socket and requiring MT3 tooling shank fitment.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Before seating or removing the adapter, de-energize the machine and bring all spindle rotation to a complete stop. Clean the mating taper surfaces with a lint-free cloth to remove chips, oil, and debris before seating, as contamination will cause runout. Use a proper drift and soft mallet to remove the adapter from the spindle socket; never strike the tooling directly.
