The VALUE COLLECTION SBFI0-800620-100BX is an 8-32 x 5/8-inch flat head slotted machine screw supplied in a box of 100. Manufactured from Grade 2 steel with a zinc finish, this screw is designed for general-purpose fastening in metal and other materials requiring a unified coarse thread (UNC) engagement. The flat head profile sits flush with or below the mating surface when driven into a countersunk hole, making it suitable for applications where a low-profile or flush finish is required. Zinc plating provides basic corrosion resistance in dry or mildly humid indoor environments. These screws are sized by overall length (OAL) at 5/8 inch with the length under the head also measuring 5/8 inch.
These machine screws are used across a broad range of mechanical assembly and maintenance applications including HVAC cabinet assembly, electrical enclosure fabrication, panel mounting, and general sheet metal work. The slotted drive accommodates a standard flat-blade screwdriver, making them easy to install and remove in the field. The 8-32 UNC thread is one of the most common machine screw thread sizes in North American trade work. The box quantity of 100 is suited for production assembly, service shop stock, or job-site replenishment.
Designed as a general-purpose 8-32 UNC machine screw compatible with any standard 8-32 tapped hole or nut. Suitable for use in HVAC cabinets, electrical enclosures, control panels, and general mechanical assemblies where a flat head slotted fastener is specified.
Install with a flat-blade screwdriver or appropriate power bit sized for a slotted drive. Ensure the receiving hole is properly countersunk to the correct angle before seating the flat head flush. Do not overtighten — Grade 2 steel has lower tensile strength than higher-grade fasteners and is not rated for high-torque structural joints. Follow applicable assembly specifications and any relevant NEC or equipment manufacturer guidelines when installing fasteners in electrical enclosures.
