The VALUE COLLECTION RCL-309 is a general purpose limit switch designed for use in industrial and mechanical control applications where reliable position detection is required. It features a plunger-style actuator mounted at the top of the housing, a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) contact form, and a normally closed (NC) contact configuration. Terminal connections are made via screw terminals, providing a secure and serviceable wiring interface. The metal and plastic composite body offers durability in light-duty to moderate-duty environments. This switch is UL Listed, meeting standard safety requirements for electrical control components. Electricians and controls technicians are the typical installers for this type of device.
The RCL-309 is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial control panels, conveyor systems, door and gate position sensing, and machinery interlocks. It functions as a discrete input device that signals a controller or relay when a mechanical actuator depresses the plunger. The normally closed configuration means the circuit is complete at rest and opens upon actuation, which is a common requirement for safety interlock and overtravel detection circuits.
Designed as a general purpose SPDT plunger limit switch suitable for use in standard industrial control, position sensing, and interlock circuit applications where a top-actuated plunger switch with screw terminals is required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified controls technician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before wiring or mounting the switch. Screw terminals should be tightened to the hardware manufacturer's fastener specification using an appropriate screwdriver. Verify actuator alignment with the mechanical trip point before returning the system to service.
