The VALUE COLLECTION R82234964 is a 1/4-20 UNC hex head cap screw machined from 18-8 stainless steel and supplied without coating. It measures 2-3/4 inches under the head and drives with a standard hex wrench or socket. The 18-8 stainless alloy provides corrosion resistance suitable for general industrial, mechanical, and trade applications where bare steel fasteners would be prone to rust. Threads conform to the Unified National Coarse (UNC) standard and meet MS 35307-317D. Licensed tradespeople, maintenance technicians, and fabricators commonly specify this fastener for equipment panels, brackets, and structural assemblies requiring a corrosion-resistant connection.
This fastener is suited for residential and commercial mechanical installations, equipment fabrication, and field service repair where a 1/4-20 UNC thread pattern is required. Typical applications include mounting brackets in HVAC equipment, electrical enclosure assemblies, plumbing fixture supports, and pool equipment framing. The uncoated finish makes it appropriate for environments where additional surface treatment will be applied by the installer or where the natural passivated stainless surface is sufficient. Sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed as a standard 1/4-20 UNC inch-series hex head cap screw for use wherever that thread size and under-head length are specified in equipment service documentation.
Installation requires a standard hex socket or open-end wrench sized for a 1/4-inch hex head cap screw. Ensure mating threads are clean and free of debris before driving to prevent cross-threading. Power down or de-energize any equipment before removing or replacing fasteners on electrical or mechanical assemblies. Do not over-torque stainless steel fasteners, as 18-8 alloy is susceptible to galling — apply an anti-seize compound to threads when working in high-heat or high-vibration environments.
