The VALUE COLLECTION R82222818 is a 1/2-13 x 1-1/4 inch hex head cap screw machined from 18-8 stainless steel with no coating applied. The 1/2-13 designation identifies a 1/2-inch nominal diameter with 13 threads per inch on a Unified National Coarse (UNC) thread form. The 1-1/4-inch dimension is the length under the head. The 18-8 stainless steel alloy provides solid corrosion resistance in wet, chemical, and outdoor environments without the need for a secondary finish. This fastener is suited for mechanical assemblies, structural connections, and equipment fabrication where stainless hardware is specified by trade professionals in HVAC, plumbing, and general mechanical installation work.
This screw is used in a wide range of commercial and industrial applications where UNC thread fasteners are required and stainless steel corrosion resistance matters. Typical install scenarios include pipe supports, equipment mounting, panel assemblies, and service connections exposed to moisture or corrosive conditions. The hex head drive allows installation with standard open-end, box-end, or socket wrenches and is compatible with common power-drive tooling used in trade service environments.
Meets MS 34307-341D, MS 35307-303D, MS 35307-305D, MS 35307-306D, MS 35307-307D, MS 35307-308D, MS 35307-310D, MS 35307-312D, MS 35307-313D, MS 35307-314D, MS 35307-316D, MS 35307-318D, MS 35307-331D, MS 35307-334D, MS 35307-336D, MS 35307-338D, MS 35307-340D, and MS 35308-413D standards. Compatible with any application requiring a 1/2-13 UNC hex head cap screw in 18-8 stainless steel.
Installation is performed by mechanical and trade technicians using standard hand or power tools rated for 1/2-inch fasteners. De-energize and lock out any equipment before installing fasteners in or near electrical enclosures, per applicable NFPA 70 (NEC) lockout-tagout requirements. Avoid mixing stainless steel fasteners with dissimilar metals in submerged or high-chloride environments where galvanic corrosion may occur. Do not overtighten stainless fasteners, as 18-8 alloy is subject to galling without proper lubrication or anti-seize compound applied to the threads.
