The VALUE COLLECTION R63642247 is a 3/8-16 UNC brass set screw with a cup point and internal hex drive, sized at 1 inch overall length. Set screws of this type are used to secure components onto shafts or inside threaded bores without a protruding head. The cup point digs into the mating surface to resist rotation and axial movement. The hex socket accepts a 3/16-inch hex key for installation. Brass construction provides corrosion resistance and is well suited for applications where galling with steel fasteners is a concern or where non-magnetic, non-sparking properties are required.
This set screw is appropriate for light-duty mechanical assemblies, instrumentation, and fluid system components where brass is the specified fastener material. Common install scenarios include shaft collars, pulleys, knobs, and valve stems in plumbing, HVAC, and general mechanical work.
