The VALUE COLLECTION R63640264 is a 3/8-16 UNC carriage bolt with a 1-1/2 inch length under head, manufactured from 18-8 stainless steel with an uncoated finish. The standard square neck seats into the mating material during installation to prevent rotation without requiring a wrench on the bolt head. This fastener is suited for structural assembly, equipment mounting, and general mechanical connections where corrosion resistance is a priority. Tradespeople working in plumbing, HVAC equipment mounting, pool and water treatment equipment, and outdoor electrical enclosures commonly specify stainless carriage bolts where moisture exposure or chemical contact is a concern.
This carriage bolt is used in light structural and mechanical assemblies requiring a flush, rounded head with anti-rotation capability. Typical applications include securing access panels, mounting brackets, pump bases, and outdoor equipment frames. The 18-8 stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for wet, humid, or mildly corrosive environments encountered in pool service, plumbing utility rooms, and exterior HVAC pad work. It is installed by hand-starting the square neck into a pre-drilled hole, then tightening a nut on the threaded end with a standard wrench or socket.
Designed as a standard 3/8-16 UNC carriage bolt for use with any unified coarse-thread hex nut, flat washer, or lock washer of the same thread size and compatible material grade.
Installation requires a pre-drilled or punched hole sized to allow the square neck to seat flush and grip the workpiece material. A licensed mechanic or trade technician should hand-start the bolt, seat the square neck by pulling the head snug, then apply a nut and washer and tighten with a standard wrench or socket driver. Avoid mixing stainless fasteners with dissimilar metals in direct contact in marine or highly conductive environments to limit galvanic corrosion risk. Follow applicable mechanical and structural codes for the equipment or assembly being fastened.
