The VALUE COLLECTION R63006441 is a 1/4-20 x 3/4-inch cup point set screw manufactured from grade 18-8 stainless steel. Set screws are headless fasteners used to secure a component — such as a collar, pulley, gear, or sprocket — against a shaft by applying direct pressure through the point. The cup point design bites into the mating surface to resist rotation and axial movement. Grade 18-8 stainless steel provides solid corrosion resistance for indoor and outdoor installations where moisture or mild chemical exposure is a concern. This screw uses a square drive, which allows high torque application with minimal cam-out during installation.
This set screw is suited for mechanical assemblies across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general industrial applications. Common install scenarios include securing shaft collars on blower motors, anchoring pulleys on fan assemblies, and fixing small mechanical components in tight spaces where a standard hex socket drive is not preferred. The square drive is frequently favored in applications where a torque wrench or manual driver must be used in confined or awkward access points. This fastener follows the UNC thread standard with length measured under head.
Designed as a standard 1/4-20 UNC cup point set screw for use in any tapped hole or threaded component requiring a 1/4-20 thread size and 3/4-inch length under head.
Installation is performed by machinists, millwrights, HVAC technicians, and maintenance professionals using a square drive bit or wrench sized for the fastener. De-energize and lock out any equipment before installing or removing set screws on rotating components. Do not overtighten — apply only enough torque to seat the cup point firmly against the mating shaft without deforming the thread. Inspect the tapped hole for damage or contamination before installation to ensure full thread engagement.
