The VALUE COLLECTION R57600532 is a hex socket shoulder screw machined from 18-8 stainless steel with an uncoated finish. It features a 5/16-inch shoulder diameter and a 2-1/2-inch shoulder length, making it well suited for applications that require a precision shaft, pivot, or spacer within a mechanical assembly. The 1/4-20 UNC threaded portion secures the fastener while the larger shoulder acts as a bearing or locating surface. A 7/16-inch head diameter and 7/32-inch head height allow the fastener to seat flush or near-flush in counterbored holes. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and industrial assembly professionals install this type of fastener in fixtures, jigs, linkages, and precision mechanical components.
This shoulder screw is appropriate for light to medium-duty mechanical assemblies where corrosion resistance and dimensional accuracy are required. The 18-8 stainless steel construction resists oxidation in moderately corrosive or wet environments, making it a practical choice for industrial equipment, food-service machinery, laboratory fixtures, and outdoor assemblies. The hex socket drive accepts a 5/32-inch hex key, allowing installation in recessed or tight-clearance locations where a conventional wrench cannot be used.
Designed as a standard shoulder screw replacement or new-installation fastener for mechanical assemblies requiring a 5/16-inch precision shoulder with 1/4-20 UNC threading.
Install using a 5/32-inch hex key or ball-end driver. Ensure the mating tapped hole is cut to 1/4-20 UNC standard and the counterbore diameter is sized appropriately for the 5/16-inch shoulder. De-energize, depressurize, or lock out any equipment before fastener installation or removal. Do not over-torque the threaded portion, as over-torquing can gall stainless steel threads; apply an anti-seize compound rated for stainless fasteners if repeated removal is expected.
