The VALUE COLLECTION R57001051 is a hex socket cap screw designed for secure, high-torque fastening in applications where a standard hex head is not practical. The screw features a 5/16-24 UNF thread — a fine-pitch Unified thread that provides greater holding strength and better resistance to loosening under vibration compared to coarse-thread alternatives. Driven by a 1/4-inch hex key, it seats flush or proud in drilled and tapped holes. Manufactured from 18-8 stainless steel in a bright, uncoated finish, it resists corrosion in wet or chemically active environments. Length under head is 4 inches. Maintenance technicians, millwrights, and field service pros install this type of fastener across a wide range of mechanical assemblies.
This screw is suited for industrial, mechanical, and trade service applications where fine-thread engagement and stainless corrosion resistance are required. Typical scenarios include equipment panel mounting, bracket fastening, pump and valve assemblies, and structural connections in environments exposed to moisture or mild chemicals. The fine 24-TPI thread pitch makes it particularly appropriate where precise torque control and vibration resistance are priorities. Sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of 2.
Designed for use in any tapped or threaded insert sized to 5/16-24 UNF specification across mechanical, industrial, and trade-service assemblies. Verify thread pitch and hole depth before installation.
Installation requires a 1/4-inch hex key or a matching socket bit; confirm the drive tool seats fully before applying torque to avoid cam-out. Ensure the receiving hole is tapped to the correct 5/16-24 UNF pitch and is clear of debris before threading. When installing stainless steel fasteners into stainless threads, apply an appropriate anti-seize compound to prevent galling. Follow applicable mechanical codes and equipment manufacturer torque guidelines for the assembly being serviced.
