The VALUE COLLECTION R52000264 is a No. 6 flat head wood screw with a 0.75-inch overall length, designed for fastening wood components in a wide range of general construction and finish carpentry applications. This screw features a Phillips drive head and is manufactured from brass, which provides natural corrosion resistance without the need for a coating or plating. It conforms to ASME B18.6.1, the governing standard for slotted and recessed head wood screws in inch series. Brass fasteners are commonly specified where moisture exposure or galvanic compatibility with certain metals is a consideration.
These flat head wood screws are appropriate for residential and light commercial woodworking, cabinetry, trim installation, and general millwork. The flat head profile sits flush with or slightly below the work surface when driven into a countersunk hole, making them suitable for finish applications where a clean surface appearance is required. They are sold in a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces, making them practical for contractors and tradespeople who need a reliable supply of brass fasteners on hand for ongoing work.
Designed as a standard No. 6 flat head wood screw per ASME B18.6.1, suitable for use with softwood and hardwood substrates in typical finish and structural fastening applications where brass fasteners are required.
Installation is performed by carpenters, finish tradespeople, or qualified DIYers using a Phillips No. 2 screwdriver or compatible power driver bit. Pre-drilling a pilot hole is recommended when working with hardwoods or near the edge of a workpiece to prevent splitting. A countersink bit should be used to prepare the hole for the flat head profile to seat flush with the surface. Brass is softer than steel, so driving torque should be controlled to avoid stripping the drive recess or shearing the fastener.
