The VALUE COLLECTION R50000363 is an alloy steel lag shield anchor designed to provide secure, load-bearing fastening into masonry substrates such as concrete, brick, and block. The anchor accepts a 5/16-inch lag screw and requires a minimum embedment depth of 1-3/4 inches to achieve rated holding strength. As the lag screw is driven, the shield expands outward against the base material, creating a mechanical grip within the hole. This type of anchor is a standard fastening solution for attaching framing, brackets, conduit supports, equipment pads, and similar structural or mechanical components to masonry surfaces.
Lag shield anchors of this type are used in both residential and light commercial construction and maintenance applications. Typical installation scenarios include securing wood sill plates to concrete foundations, mounting pipe hangers to block walls, and attaching equipment supports to poured concrete. The 5/16-inch diameter makes this anchor well suited for medium-duty fastening tasks where a smaller anchor profile is required. Licensed contractors, electricians, plumbers, and general tradespeople commonly install this hardware during rough-in and structural attachment work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit lag shield anchor for use with 5/16-inch lag screws in masonry fastening applications.
Installation is performed by drilling a correctly sized hole in the masonry substrate, inserting the lag shield flush with or slightly below the surface, and driving the lag screw to expand the anchor. Power down or de-energize any nearby electrical systems before drilling into walls or slabs. Use a hammer drill with a carbide-tipped masonry bit sized to the anchor manufacturer specification. Follow applicable building codes, including IBC and local jurisdiction requirements, for minimum edge distance and anchor spacing.
