The VALUE COLLECTION R50000328 is a No. 8 sheet metal screw designed for fastening sheet metal, light-gauge steel, and similar thin-material assemblies in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general trade applications. The hex washer head provides a large bearing surface and is driven with a standard slotted bit or a nut driver. At 2 inches length under head, this screw delivers solid thread engagement in typical duct, panel, and bracket work. Finished in zinc for basic corrosion resistance, it is manufactured from Grade 2 steel and is available with Type A or Type AB point geometry to suit different substrate thicknesses and pre-punched hole conditions.
These screws are a staple fastener on HVAC sheet metal ductwork, electrical enclosures, junction boxes, equipment panels, and light structural brackets. The hex washer head style suits both hand-tool and power-tool installation, making it practical for field techs and shop fabricators alike. The Type A and Type AB dual-point designation allows use in thinner gauges where a Type A point self-starts, as well as in slightly thicker stock where Type AB thread form provides better holding power. This SKU is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces.
Designed as a standard OEM-style replacement and general-use fastener for sheet metal assemblies, HVAC ductwork, electrical enclosures, and light-gauge panel work where a No. 8 hex washer head slotted screw is specified.
Installation is typically performed by HVAC technicians, sheet metal workers, or electricians using a slotted screwdriver or a nut driver. Ensure the receiving material gauge is appropriate for the selected point type before driving. Do not overtighten, as the thin-gauge material can strip or deform under excessive torque. When used in electrical enclosures, follow applicable NEC guidelines for fastener requirements.
